Companies
If you currently have temporary staff working with your company via The Recruitment Place, you will be sent all of the forms you may require prior to each temporary worker’s start date. Temporary staff will be fully briefed regarding their assignment – the working environment, job role and responsibilities, salary, hours of work etc -to ensure full understanding of the role and your company’s requirements. Temporary staff are given the relevant forms required prior to starting work with you and receive time sheets on a weekly basis.
However, if you require anything else please contact The Recruitment Place immediately on 01293 312 987 – our Consultants will be happy to assist.
Temporary Staff
Before you start an assignment you will be given as much information as possible including the identity of the company, the start date, the expected duration of the assignment, the type of work, the experience required, the rate of pay, working hours etc. Your Consultant will also give you all of the initial forms you require, such as Time Sheets and Bank Details forms. However, if you lose your time sheet or any of your details change, please use the downloadable forms on this page. You can then send the completed forms to The Recruitment Place by fax (01293 459 775) or by post. If you require anything else, please contact your Consultant who will be happy to help.
Staying in Touch
Once you have started an assignment please stay in touch and let us know how you are getting on. If you feel an assignment is unsuitable for you, please let us know immediately.
If you are ill or are going to be late for an assignment you must let us know before your shift is due to start. We can then inform our client of the situation. You can call the office between 08:30 and 17:30 on 01293 312 987, or call the emergency mobile on 07870 974 720.
Time sheets
At the beginning of every assignment you will be issued with a time sheet. You will be sent further time sheets for future weeks in the post. You must ensure that your time sheet is completed correctly. You will be paid for actual hours worked.
The time sheet must be signed by a supervisor or someone with authorisation within the company you are assigned to. It is your responsibility to ensure that your time sheet is signed and returned to The Recruitment Place by 1000am on the Monday after the week worked. If we do not receive your signed time sheet it will delay payment and you may have to wait until the next week before your receive your money. If you can not get the time sheet signed please call our office for help.
We advise you to keep a copy of the time sheet for your own records.
You are paid one week in arrears; at the end of each week you will receive a payslip advising you of what will go in to your bank account. Your pay will arrive in the bank on the Friday after the week you worked.
Holiday Pay
Temporary workers accrue up to 28 days paid annual leave once engaged on assignment via The Recruitment Place. Holiday entitlement is accrued on a weekly basis. You are entitled to take paid annual leave in proportion to what has been accrued when you wish to take leave. So if you have worked for 6 months in the year, your entitlement will be half of 28 days.
You can not carry forward holiday pay from one leave year to the next. We can not pay you in lieu of holidays unless you finish working with us.
Our terms of engagement detail how paid annual leave works – if you have any questions about this, please ask a Consultant.
Working hours
On average you should not be required to work more than 48 hours per week, unless you agree to do so in writing. However, some companies will occasionally ask you to work longer hours. The Recruitment Place may ask you to work more than 48 hours on average – however, you are under no obligation to do so.
The maximum 48 hour week is an average number of hours, generally calculated over a 17 week period (longer in some sectors).
You are entitled to 11 hours rest from work in each 24 hours (under 18s are entitled to 12 hours rest from work).
If your assignment last for more than 6 hours per day you should have a 20 minute break from work (under 18s receive a 30 minute break). Try to take this away from your work station. You should make arrangements with the client about rest/lunch breaks.
If you work at night (between 23:00 and 06:00) you should not work more than 8 hours in every 24, again averaged over 17 weeks (or however may weeks you have worked if less than 17 weeks). Where the work is strenuous, 8 hours work in 24 is the maximum you must work - your Consultant will advise you if this is the case.
You are entitled to a minimum of one days rest from work each week or 2 days every 2 weeks (if you are under 18 you are entitled to 2 days rest each week).
